Volunteer at the Lincoln

chairs at the Lincoln Theatre

As a part of the Lincoln Theatre team, you can get hands-on experience in the performing arts industry while benefiting the community. We are committed to diversity in our programming in keeping with our mission to expand cultural awareness. Furthermore, our cultural enrichment programs have brought over 8,000 DC public school students this year alone to learn about the arts while enjoying music, dance, drama and film. Be a part of this exciting time at the Jewel on U, where the Magic is in the Mix.

Interested volunteers can email contact information and availability to LaChenia Allen. Our volunteer opportunities are very flexible.

As an usher, you gain hands-on experience in the entertainment industry while benefiting the community and play a part in the renaissance of the Lincoln Theatre-the cultural beacon of the vibrant U Street Corridor.

All ushers are requested to RSVP the shows that they are available for. Volunteer ushers are to report 2 hours before show time to receive their instruction for each event. Flashlights are available, but it is encouraged for each usher to bring his or her own. There are lockers for your convenience; however you may want to bring your own lock.

The standard dress code for all Lincoln Theatre ushers is a white dress shirt, black slacks or black skirt and black closed toe shoes. No excessive accessories, etc.

The Lincoln Theatre thanks you for your dedication.
